Early BiCons

The first few cons weren't called BiCon, and weren't always only one per year. They were:

  • "The Politics of Bisexuality" - London (Factory Community Project), December 1984
  • "2nd Politics of Bisexuality Conference" - London (London Lesbian & Gay Centre), April 1985
  • "Bisexuality and the Politics of Sex" - Edinburgh (Pleasance Student Centre), October 1985
  • "4th National Bisexual Conference" - London (Mary Ward Centre), July 1986
  • "5th National Bisexual Conference" - Edinburgh (Pleasance Student Centre), 1987
  • "6th National Bisexual Conference" - London (Hampstead Friends Meeting House), October 1988

None of these BiCons were residential, and during this period attendance rose from about 40 to over 150. The first residential BiCon, and the first to use the now-familiar name "BiCon", was BiCon 7.

Can you give us any more information about these BiCons? We'd love to hear from you and publish your comments. (NB we don't have to show your name but if you don't give your name we will not publish your comments.) Don't forget to tell us which year your comments relate to!
